IV: Poetry by George Anderson & Photography by Kris.K.G, 1

resolved_sinThe Aborted Foetus

In a sharp twisting motion
he tears a large fishing hook
from the clay-tiled wall
a thick yellow paste
exudes from the hole

And sitting in the bath
beside him
is a misshaped foetus
bolted upright
the size of a thigh

It resembles a seahorse
with muscly shoulders
it sits there inertly
its eyes covered in a thin
reddish membrane

He waits for it to speak
to explain itself
to pass judgment

the rain drumming
in a mesmerising chant
on the steel roof above him
